Prof. Ayelet David

We develop nanomedicines and drug delivery technologies for detection, diagnosis, and treatment of life-threatening diseases. My research lab at BGU has developed several polymer-based systems (polymer-drug conjugates, polymeric micelles, nanoparticles) to deliver therapeutic molecules (cytotoxic and peptide drugs, oligonucleotides) and diagnostic agents (fluorescent dyes) to specific cells and tissues in the body to treat cancer, cardiovascular diseases, liver diseases, kidney injury, and other illnesses. We also developed polymers that can target strategic molecules (cell adhesion molecules and receptors) that underline the disease phenotype to modulate their activity and improve the therapeutic efficacy.
