Computer and Information Science
(Student Portal)

The Faculty of Computer and Information Science is a new faculty established by Ben-Gurion University in summer 2025. The faculty was created by merging two former departments: Computer Science (CS) and Software and Information Systems Engineering (SISE). The new faculty seeks to promote the excellence of research in CIS related areas. The faculty has a unique and novel structure and is divided along two separate partitions: research and teaching. Our research segment includes five research institutes: the Institute for the Theory of Computing, the Institute for Interdisciplinary Computational Science, the Institute for the Foundations of AI, the Institute for Applied AI Research, and the Institute for Software, Systems and Security (S³). Each researcher chooses to be affiliated with an institute that best matches his/her scientific theme but can change that choice dynamically. In the teaching segment we offer four different undergraduate degrees: Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems Engineering, and Data Science.

Open Positions

Following the establishment of our new faculty, we are seeking several outstanding candidates in all areas of Computer Science, Information Systems Engineering, and Data Science. The ideal start date is October 2026. Researchers with a PhD in these areas and related areas are encouraged to apply and join our growing faculty.

Applications will be reviewed on a first-come first-served basis.
